Total Crypto-Market Cap Reaches All-Time High of $165 Billion
You heard that right, the total crypto-market cap just broke $165 Billion, up from $90 Billion since the beggining of the month. Various digital currencies hit all-time highs (ATH), some of which were Bitcoin ($4,687), Litecoin ($65), Monero ($153), and Dash ($406) according to CoinMarketCap
Bitcoin managed to reach an ATH of $4,687 on Coin Market Cap before pulling back to $4,500. Bitcoins current market cap of over $73 Billion is higher than PayPal, Tesla, General Motors, Fedex, and Sony. However, with all the recent spotlight, Bitcin dominance once again fell below 50% as some Altcoins have gained some respect.
Funds flowing into cryptocurrency versus traditional assets has become an increasing talking point in recent weeks. Some have even used the comparison to highlight the recent gold market.
Ether (ETH), the native cryptocurrency of Ethereum was also an excellent performer, gradually growing at over 80% since the start of the month. Ethereum is still $50 from its' ATH of $420. There have been rumors that the Ethereum Metropolis update will release in September.
